Mid-20th Century Scottish Sgian-Dubh with Carved Celtic Knotwork Hilt (Reproduction) - A traditional Scottish sgian-dubh of the style associated with mid-20th-century Highland dress. The knife features a carved black wooden hilt, likely bog oak or a stained hardwood, decorated with traditional Celtic interlace knotwork and a thistle-head form pommel. The pommel is finished with a plain brass cap. The polished steel blade is single-edged with a spear point, featuring a short fuller and characteristic decorative scalloping, or jimping, along the back edge of the spine. The item is complete with its original scabbard, featuring a leather-covered rigid core and fitted with brass mounts comprising a shaped locket and a pointed chape. No visible maker marks, date stamps, or military broad arrow marks are present on the blade or the metal mounts.
