Cook Islands 1975 Seven-Coin Proof Set Franklin Mint - A complete 1975 coinage of the Cook Islands proof set produced by the Franklin Mint. The set comprises seven denominations: a one-dollar coin featuring the ancient god Tangoroa; a fifty-cent coin (bonito); a twenty-cent coin (fairy tern); a ten-cent coin (oranges in a cluster of leaves); a five-cent coin (hibiscus flower); a two-cent coin (pineapples); and a one-cent coin (taro leaf). The five highest denominations are struck in silver-toned metals, including a sterling silver (0.925) one-dollar coin, while the one and two-cent coins are struck in copper-toned bronze. Each coin exhibits a proof finish characterized by frosted devices and mirrored fields. The set is housed in its original clear plastic airtight holder and presented in a brown textured folder with gold-toned satin lining. Accompanied by the original Certificate of Authenticity hand-dated 1 December 1975 and an information insert from the Franklin Mint.
