A Pair of UK George III Silver Coins, Crown 1820 and Half-Crown 1817 - A pair of British silver coins minted during the reign of King George III. The first coin is a 1820 Crown. The obverse features the laureate head of King George III facing right, with the inscription GEORGIUS III D:G: BRITANNIARUM REX F:D: and the date 1820. The reverse depicts the classic image of St George slaying the dragon, encircled by the Garter bearing the motto HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE. The second coin is an 1817 Half-Crown, featuring the ”Bull Head” portrait of George III. The obverse shows the laureate bust of the King facing right with the inscription GEORGIUS III D:G: BRITANNIARUM REX F:D: and the date 1817. The reverse displays a crowned shield of arms within the Garter. Both coins are struck in .925 sterling silver. Weight: 39.50g (combined).
