A Pair of Vintage Miniature Amber Glass Oil Lamps with Cartographic Decoration - A pair of decorative miniature oil lamps, likely mid-to-late 20th-century reproductions in a historical style. Each lamp features a cylindrical amber glass reservoir decorated with a transfer-printed world map based on 17th-century Dutch cartography. The top border of the decal on each reservoir contains the Latin text Nova Totius Terrarum Orbis Geographica ac Hydrographica, a reproduction of the title from Willem Blaeu's 1606 world map. The lamps are constructed with brass-toned metal burners, each equipped with a wick adjustment knob, and are finished with clear glass globe chimneys. The glass reservoirs are supported by a stepped, circular foot. No maker's marks or signatures are present on the bases or the burner adjustment knobs.
