A UK 2008 The Royal Mint Emblems of Britain Seven-Coin Silver Proof Collection - A 2008 United Kingdom seven-coin silver proof collection issued by The Royal Mint. Titled Emblems of Britain, the set represents the final annual issue of the traditional reverse designs prior to the introduction of the Matthew Dent shield series. The collection includes a one pound coin featuring the Royal Shield of Arms; a heptagonal fifty pence coin depicting seated Britannia; a heptagonal twenty pence coin with a crowned Tudor rose; a ten pence coin with a crowned lion; a five pence coin with a crowned thistle; a two pence coin featuring the Prince of Wales’s feathers; and a one penny coin with a crowned portcullis. All coins are struck in silver to proof standard with mirrored fields and frosted devices. The coins are housed in a clear acrylic display case within a black faux-leather presentation box, accompanied by a titled informational booklet and a numbered Certificate of Authenticity, number 6110. The set includes the original black card outer slipcase with an adhesive identification label.
