The obverse features the Jubilee Head portrait of Queen Victoria facing left, wearing a crown and veil, with the struck legend VICTORIA DEI GRATIA. The reverse depicts four crowned shields in a cruciform arrangement representing England, Scotland, and Ireland, separated by four scepters with the Star of the Garter at the centre. The reverse legend is struck BRITT: REG: 18 87 FID: DEF: with the date featuring a Roman I variety. The coin is finished with a milled edge.
