The obverse features a representation of the Winged Victory statue set against a landscape depicting the volcanoes Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl. Struck legends read 1 ONZA PLATA PURA 2009 LEY .999, alongside the mint mark for the Casa de Moneda de México consisting of an M with a superscript O. The reverse depicts the current Mexican coat of arms, showing an eagle perched on a cactus with a snake in its beak, encircled by the legend ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS.
