The obverse depicts a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II wearing a diadem, set against a textured guilloche background. The legend is inscribed 10 POUNDS ELIZABETH II D · G · REG · F · D and the struck initials J.C appear below the neck truncation. The reverse features a heraldic design comprising a central shield supported by a crowned lion and a unicorn.
