A 1983 German Heinrich Porcelain Russian Fairy Tales Maria Morevna Plate - A circular porcelain decorative plate from the Heinrich Russiche Märchen (Russian Fairy Tales) series, produced by Villeroy & Boch. The central scene, after original illustrations by Boris Zvorykin, depicts Koshchey the Immortal abducting Maria Morevna. This polychrome scene is set within a wide decorative border featuring stylised foliate and floral motifs in shades of blue, green, and red on a chocolate-brown ground, finished with a gilded rim. The reverse of the plate bears gold printed text: Die Russischen Märchen, illustriert von Boris Zvorykin, Maria Morevna, Koshchey, der Unsterbliche, entführt Maria Morevna, and Limited Edition 27.500 above a crown logo and the characters HEINRICH GERMANY Villeroy & Boch. A small metal hanging loop is affixed to the centre back. The lot includes a matching German language Zertifikat (Certificate of Authenticity) bearing the printed signature of Wendelin von Boch and an issue date of May 1983, along with the original printed presentation box.
