Three 20th Century Banknotes from the UK, Canada, and Burma - This lot comprises three mid-20th Century banknotes from the UK, Canada, and the Japanese Government for Burma. The first is a Bank of England Ten Shilling note printed in reddish-brown, featuring a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II and the printed signature of J. S. FFORDE beneath the text CHIEF CASHIER; the serial number C40N 406012 is printed in black. The second is a Bank of Canada One Dollar note dated 1954, printed in green and black with a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II and the signatures of J. R. BEATTIE and L. RASMINSKY; the serial number M/P 9588518 appears in red. The final note is a Japanese Government Ten Rupee occupation issue for Burma, bearing the legends THE JAPANESE GOVERNMENT and TEN RUPEES with block letters BA and vignettes of a pagoda and palm trees. No other labels or markings are present.
