The bowl is extensively decorated to both the interior and exterior with hand-painted fruit studies, including apples, grapes, and blackberries set against an autumnal background in shades of ochre and moss green. The rim and foot are finished with a thick gilded band. The interior well bears the hand-painted signature A. MELLOR in black script. No other maker's marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the item.
