decoration with plant motifs and central monstrance, traditionaly identified as Indo-Portuguese
17th/18th C.
trim cords, pendant tassel and later laces of the 18th C., minor faults, signs of use, modern upholstery
Dimensões (altura x comprimento x largura) - 81 x 263 cm
Notes: cloth intended to cover the image of Christ Lying, which was carried in procession on a bier during the ceremony of the burial of the Lord, on Good Friday. A similar copy is part of the collection of the Ducal Palace of Vila Viçosa (inv. 41), having been part of the exhibition "From Goa to Lisbon", Brussels, 1991.
