Dreyfus is depicted sitting on a stone, his head in his hands, and he is handcuffed. Includes blatant anti-Semitic references to Dreyfus (he is called a ”dirty Jew”) and discussions between the prisoners about his condition and innocence. At the end of the play, a dramatic dialogue between Dreyfus and Herzl, dealing with the question of the place of the Jews in the world, the search for a homeland, and the future of the Jewish people.
