1955 Taxed Airmail Cover from Gaza under Egyptian Rule to Yellow Springs Ohio, Postage Due Stamps - Taxed airmail cover (To Pay) sent from Gaza under Egyptian rule in 1955. Sent by Taleb Tarter, Gaza District, via Egypt, Palestine, to Mr. Ernest Morgan, 130 Glen Street, Yellow Springs, Ohio, USA. Franked with Egyptian stamp with Palestine overprint. 'T' tax marking and 'TO PAY 6d MILS' boxed handstamp applied at Gaza. Upon arrival in New York, additional postage due of 22 cents assessed (POSTAGE DUE 22 CENTS, AMF New York, N.Y.). 'NOTIFIED MAR 16 1955' marking. On the reverse, US postage due stamps (1 cent and 2 cent values) with Yellow Springs postmark. Cover taxed both on departure and arrival.
