The Road to Jerusalem stamp, State of Israel 1949, face value 250 mil in brown and light grey, Bale 15. A corner copy with full tab and attached sheet margin. The stamp was issued on 16 February 1949 and withdrawn on 31 July 1953, designed by M. and G. Shamir, perforated 11 and a half and printed in sheets of 200 in four panes of fifty. The design shows the road winding up to Jerusalem in the days of the War of Independence, and the tab carries the Hebrew inscription I will make all my mountains a way. Mint never hinged, MNH.
