Bidspirit auction | The Menorah stamp, a definitive

The Menorah stamp, a definitive issue, State of Israel 1952, face value 1000 in blue and grey, Bale 59. The stamp carries a full tab; the design shows the seven branched menorah framed by the emblems of the twelve tribes, while the tab is inscribed And the children of Israel pitched their tents every man by his own camp and every man by his own standard. Designed by O. Wallish, perforated 14 and printed from plate number 38, it is the high value of the definitive stamps of that period. Mint never hinged, MNH.
