Bidspirit auction | Maccabi Grodno 1937, an original

Maccabi Grodno 1937, an original real photo postcard showing a Jewish football team. Group photograph on the pitch, the players in sports shirts, some of them carrying the club badge, with trees and town buildings behind them. Along the lower edge of the photograph runs a handwritten caption scratched into the negative, including a date from 1937, only partly legible. The back is a divided back with the Orion photographic paper imprint, a German shield shaped censor handstamp reading Gepruft with a number, and a later ballpoint annotation in Hebrew reading Grodna. Condition: fair, folds and creases, wear and surface abrasion to the photographic layer, small tears and tape repairs on the back, a small loss to the backing paper.
