Lot of 3 franked covers from 1950, all bearing stamps of the 5710 Independence Day issue. (1) First day cover franked with the 40 pruta stamp with tab, Hadera postmark dated 23.4.1950 and a hexagonal Day of Issue handstamp with the leaping deer emblem; (2) first day cover franked with the 20 pruta stamp with tab, the same handstamps of the same day; (3) registered express cover from Hadera with an express label and registration label HADERA No 3753, franked with a vertical pair of 40 pruta stamps with tab, Hadera postmark of 1950, and on the reverse transit and arrival postmarks of Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and Hadera dated May 1950. Both first day covers carry a printed illustrated design of a sunrise, the words Independence Day 5710 and a verse by Rabbi Yehuda Halevi. Both sides of each cover photographed. Good condition, a small tear at the top edge of the registered cover, creases and age marks, exactly as photographed.
