Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec (French, 1864-1901) framed drawing of friend and fellow artist Henri-Gabriel Ibels (France, 1867-1936) depicted as a ballerina. This piece is monogrammed by the artist, titled ”Ibels Gabriel” and dated ”1900” to the lower right hand corner. Signed ”Toulouse-Lautrec” verso. Henri-Gabriel Ibels often collaborated with Toulouse-Lautrec and became involved in avant-garde theater, possibly explaining this portrait depiction. Provenance: from a Charlottesville, VA estate.
