An exceptionally fine regimental badge of the Grenadier Kiev Regiment of His Imperial Highness the Heir Tsesarevich, established to commemorate the regiment’s bicentennial (1700–1900). The eight-pointed white enamel star bears the crowned cypher of Emperor Nicholas II and the inscription “In Commemoration, 30, 1700–1900”. At the center, within a gilt rococo cartouche, appears a detailed enameled image of the Archangel Michael, the regiment’s celestial patron, beneath an Imperial crown. Assay marks on the reverse.
