The work was published by A. Börtzells in Stockholm, 1920. Magnus von Wright (1805–1868) was a Finnish artist, ornithologist, and illustrator. He is best known for his detailed and scientifically accurate bird paintings, which contributed significantly to the early development of Nordic ornithology. Together with his brothers Wilhelm and Ferdinand von Wright, he created several natural history works, including illustrations for scientific books and articles.
