Takashi Murakami is a Japanese contemporary artist. He works in fine arts as well as commercial media and has been internationally acclaimed for his ability to adapt the traditional Japanese aesthetic to the context of popular culture.
This is a rare and unique portrait of Mr. Dob. This specific piece was made by the artist as a present to his girlfriend at the time, and it’s unique in its unusual size, as most of the pieces are usually bigger.
The framed artwork is signed twice by Takashi Murakami, with his English signature on the bottom left corner and his Japanese signature at the back of the piece.
