Pair of Vintage Pushkins Wonder Squirrel Rectangular Russian Lacquer Boxes - A beautiful pair of Russian lacquer boxes crafted from paper mache. Each box features detailed hand painted scenes. One box depicts the scene Wonder-Squirrel from Pushkin's Tale of the Tsar Saltan which describes a magical squirrel. The box is inscribed in Russian at the bottom of the scene and is framed with a gold border. The other box depicts a maiden figure and a child surrounded by trees, swans and a stream of water. The box is also marked with Russian inscriptions and is framed with a gold border. Dimensions: H 1.25 x W 2 x 1.75 inches Condition: Very good condition  Provenance: Private Texas Collector
