Antique Delaware, Lackawanna and Western Railroad Signal Lantern - A well-preserved signal lantern from Delaware, Lackawanna and Western Railroad. This lantern features a heavy metal exterior, a handle for carrying, and multiple colored lenses for different signals. The D. L. and W. R. R is painted on the lower surface of the lantern.  Dimensions: H 15 x W 9 x D 9 inches Condition: Consistent with age and use, minor scratching to the lenses, rusting and scratching to the body Railroad lanterns were used to convey signals to engineers and other personnel, with different colored lenses used to indicate specific messages. This would ensure the safe operations of trains and the employees.
