Antique Adlake Non-Sweating Railroad Switch Lamp - An antique railroad switch lamp with multiple lenses of different colors. The top of the lamp is embossed with the words The Adlake Non-Sweating Lamp, Chicago.  Dimensions: H 21 x W 8 x D 8 inches Condition: Consistent with age. Discoloration, minor rusting, and residue on the lamp itself.  These lamps were placed at railroad switches to indicate the direction the track switch was set, with different colored lenses signaling the route to train crews. It was manufactured by Adlake, which is Adams and Westlake Company. This company was a prominent maker of railroad equipment.
