France, Louis XV, mid-18th century - Mirror. In moulded wood, finely carved and gilded. Original mercury mirror inserted in a frame decorated with leafy racemes and floral compositions. Shoulders carved with plant motifs, surmounted by flower vases. Rich upper cymatium culminating in a decoration of the face of Bacchus with a crown of grapes. Small losses. Provenance: Piero Betti Gallery, Via del Babuino, Rome (1992); Purchased there by the current owners.
