Antique c1880 Double Irish Chain Quilt - Madder - Antique c1880 Double Irish Chain Quilt measuring 88x89”. It is comprised of 49 squares, 10.5 by 10.5 inches, set straight, 7 by 7, with 2525 square blocks and 24 alternating snowball blocks with appliquéd square corners. There is a triple border, 6.5 inches wide with madder print, solid white, and cheddar print. It is hand pieced, hand appliquéd, and expertly hand quilted. Thin cotton batting and an off white cotton reverse. The edge is finished with an applied white fabric binding, by hand.
