Vintage c1950 House Tops Style Quilt - Vintage c1950 House Tops Style Quilt measuring 57 by 71 inches. The quilt uses two fabrics, a black solid twill wool and a beige damask jacquard fabric with possibly silk content. The quilt starts in the center with a beige square framed by a black square framed by another beige square, so on and so on. It is machine pieced and hand quilted in a Baptist fan motif. There is thick cotton batting and a woven stripe flannel reverse. The edge is finished with the back brought to the front and applied by hand. In spite of its condition it is a very graphic quilt similar to Gee's Bend style House Top quilts. This quilt was collected in northern Kentucky.
