Antique c1880 Silk Hexagon Quilt - Antique c1880 Silk Hexagon Quilt crazy quilt patchwork corners. It measures 65 by 71 inches. It is comprised of one inch hexagons of silk and velvet. Brightly colored silk flowers in yellow, blue, purple, pink, red and more are set against a black hexagon ground. It is hand pieced. Several of the seams are hand embroidered. There is thick cotton batting and a red cotton reverse. The edge is finished with an applied black fabric binding. It is not quilted, but rather tied with embroidery floss at the center of many of the rosette flowers.
