Greek Lucky Eye and Hamsa Wall Hanging, Glass and Ceramic Protection Amulet, Late 20th Century - A decorative wall-hanging protection charm, frequently referred to as a Greek lucky eye or Nazar. The piece is constructed from glass and ceramic elements joined by knotted natural fibre cords. The central features include a teal-glazed ceramic Hamsa hand with a small inset eye bead, followed by a large, circular cobalt blue glass eye bead. The lower portion consists of several cord lengths, each finished with smaller blue glass beads and hand-painted eye beads secured with knots. While similar in style to items found in Greek and Turkish artisan markets, there are no visible manufacturer markings or signatures. Measurements not recorded.
