WEM Watkins Copicat IC 300 Tape Echo Unit - A vintage WEM Watkins Copicat IC 300 tape echo and delay effects unit, manufactured in England circa 1970s. The unit features a brushed metal faceplate with red and black printed graphics. The control interface includes four independent 1/4 inch jack inputs, each with a dedicated black and red gain control knob. The effects section is comprised of three red push buttons for echo selection, alongside rotary knobs for tone, swell, and sustain. A master off mains rocker switch with an integrated red indicator light is positioned at the lower right. The mechanical section consists of a continuous magnetic tape loop system passing over a series of record and playback heads, secured by a metal tension arm and guide rollers. The unit is housed in its original wooden transit case covered in a black textured Tolex-style material. The interior of the lid is finished with a padded red textured lining. The case is fitted with a central plastic carry handle, two metal flip-latches, and three circular plastic ventilation grilles on the rear panel. The faceplate bears several markings including the stylized wem logo in red, the text WATKINS Copicat IC 300, and MADE IN ENGLAND. Technical specifications are printed near the top centre stating 220 240V ~ 27VA and FUSE 250 M.A-A.S. A red bordered instruction box reads IMPORTANT - CLEAN HEADS USE BRANDED HEAD- CLEANING FLUID. The unit includes a hard-wired power cable with a modern UK 3-pin plug and a loose 1/4 inch instrument cable.
