An Edwardian Style Celluloid Mantilla Hair Comb with Paste Stones - A large, curved decorative hair comb of the type traditionally used with a mantilla veil, dating to the early 20th century. The piece is constructed from a honey-toned translucent material, likely celluloid, featuring a broad, fan-shaped heading. The upper section displays an intricate pierced openwork border with scrolling foliate and fleur-de-lis inspired motifs. This decorative border is embellished with a row of small, circular-cut colourless paste stones set into the body. The comb is finished with six long, tapering and curved tines. No maker's marks or material stamps are visible on the item.
