Late 19th Century German Bisque Porcelain Welsh Tea Party Nodder Figurine - A late 19th-century German bisque porcelain nodding figure group, commonly identified as a Welsh Tea Party. The piece depicts two seated figures in traditional Welsh costume, featuring tall blue chimney hats, cloaks, and aprons, engaged in conversation over a tea table. The heads are articulated on metal wire supports with internal counterweights designed to create a nodding motion. The group is hand-painted in shades of pale blue and white, further embellished with gilded floral sprays and dot patterns. The base is hollow, revealing the mechanical construction of the nodding heads. No factory marks or model numbers are visible on the underside or body of the piece. Width: 115mm.
