A Vintage Brass Novelty Petrol Pocket Lighter in the Form of a Miner's Safety Lamp - A vintage petrol pocket lighter modelled in the form of a miner's safety lamp. The item is constructed from brass and features beaded borders with a central section finished in a dark, textured leather-effect wrap. The assembly consists of several screw-together and friction-fit components. The ventilated top section, which includes a suspension ring, acts as a removable cover for the internal striker wheel and wick assembly. The base contains a large slotted fuel filler screw and a smaller flint tension screw. The underside of the base is stamped with the mark MODELE DEPOSE, indicating a registered design of French origin. Height: approximately 7.5cm.
