Vintage Industrial Heavy Metal Five Gallon Storage Can with Lugged Cap. COLLECTION ONLY - A large industrial storage vessel, likely used for the transport or storage of chemicals, black powder, or oils. The cylindrical body is constructed from a heavy-gauge grey metal, featuring three raised horizontal reinforcement bands and a tapered shoulder. The narrow neck is fitted with a substantial screw-on metal cap designed with four raised wedge-shaped lugs, likely intended for operation with a specialised wrench or key. The shoulder retains the stump of a broken handle. The surface shows a heavily weathered, chalky white and grey finish with significant oxidation, patination, and wear consistent with age and industrial use. A modern white adhesive inventory label numbered 9796 is present near the base. 450mm height.
