SHIMON BAR-KOKHBA, 132 – 135 CE
Silver denarius or Zuz, 3.22 gr. Obverse: Bunch of grapes. Paleo-Hebrew inscription: “Shimon". Reverse: Two trumpets. Paleo-Hebrew inscription: "To the freedom of Jerusalem". Very Fine. Struck on a denarius of Trajan. Mildenberg 167; Meshorer TJC 277; Hendin 1431. Ex Menashe Landman coll., Haifa (Ex Munk 1968).
