The design features a wide, angular base with radiating lines and stylized floral or scroll motifs. A central octagonal compartment with a hinged lid is flanked by these motifs. The lid is adorned with a bronze-toned medallion depicting a profile bust of ”NAPOLEON 1er” (Napoleon 1st) and the dates ”1769-1821”, commemorating his life. The central compartment is missing its original glass inkwell insert.
