A Pair of Large Capodimonte Porcelain Courtly Figurines - A pair of large Italian porcelain figurines manufactured by Capodimonte, depicting an 18th-century courtly couple in the Rococo style. The male figure is modelled in an ornate frock coat, waistcoat, and breeches, holding a bird in his left hand. The female figure is depicted in an elaborate tiered and ruffled gown, holding an open fan. Both figures are fashioned from glazed white porcelain with extensive hand-painted gilt accents throughout the clothing and bases. The integrated circular bases are decorated with relief-moulded flowers and scrollwork. Each figurine bears a silver-coloured foil label on the upper surface of the base, featuring an N beneath a five-pointed crown, the word CAPODIMONTE in an arc, and MADE IN ITALY printed at the bottom.
