A WWII British General Service Respirator and Haversack Dated 1941 - A WWII-era British military gas mask set comprising a General Service Respirator (GSR) and its original haversack. The respirator includes a black rubber facepiece with a single rectangular cellulose acetate eyepane, connected to a black-painted cylindrical filter canister. The canister features a band of white tape and traces of green-tinted residue. The facepiece is housed in a small tan canvas inner bag, which fits within the primary haversack. The haversack is constructed from heavy-duty olive-drab canvas webbing and is equipped with a shoulder strap, brass press-stud closures, and metal D-ring attachments. The interior lid of the haversack is stamped with a broad arrow mark, the maker's initials M & C O, the date 1941, and the size number 2. The facepiece is marked with the characters L O T 1 0.
