A Siebe Gorman and Co. Ltd. Puretha Gas Mask in Original Metal Case - A vintage Puretha model industrial respirator kit manufactured by Siebe Gorman and Co. Ltd. of Chessington, Surrey. The set comprises a grey moulded rubber face mask with integrated head straps, joined by a khaki fabric-covered corrugated rubber breathing tube to a rectangular red-painted metal filter canister. The kit is housed in its original rectangular blue-painted metal carrying case with a hinged lid and side latches. The lid is decorated with gold-coloured script and block lettering identifying the mask as the Puretha model. A central decorative crest lists the manufacturer as Siebe Gorman and Co. Ltd., makers of smoke helmets, gas masks, and rescue apparatus. A handwritten letter S is present in black ink on the lid.
