Singer Hand-Crank Sewing Machine with Bentwood Case Serial 11255380 - An antique hand-crank sewing machine manufactured by The Singer Manufacturing Co., dating to approximately 1892. The machine is constructed from cast iron with a black enamelled finish, featuring decorative gilt floral and scrollwork decals. The name The Singer Manufacturing Co. is printed in gilt lettering along the arm. A metal serial number plate is affixed to the bed, stamped 11255380. The machine is fitted with a wooden-handled hand-crank and a sliding metal needle plate. It is housed in its original bentwood dome case with a corresponding wooden base. The case features a transfer-printed Singer trademark logo including a central shuttle graphic and the text SINGER MANFG CO TRADE MARK. A partial spool of thread remains on the spool pin.
