Bidspirit auction | A Rustic Vernacular Three-Legged Wooden

A Rustic Vernacular Three-Legged Wooden Stool with Iron Stretcher - A rustic vernacular three-legged wooden stool, likely dating from the late 19th to early 20th century. The stool features a circular wooden seat with a characterful hand-hewn, scalloped edge. It is supported by three splayed, tapered wooden legs with a slightly bulbous profile, reinforced at mid-height by a triangular iron stretcher assembly secured with metal pins. Construction employs mortice-and-tenon joints, with the wood displaying a dark, aged patina throughout. Two small white adhesive labels are present; one on the edge of the seat bears the characters 309, while the label on the top surface is illegible.
