Royal Crown Derby Sleeping Dormouse Paperweight - A Royal Crown Derby fine bone china paperweight modelled as a sleeping dormouse. The figure is realistically formed in a curled position and decorated in a traditional Imari palette of iron red and cobalt blue, heavily embellished with 22kt gold. The decorative scheme includes stylized foliate scrolls and ears of wheat across the body. The underside of the piece bears the red printed Royal Crown Derby factory mark with the crown and cypher. It includes the Roman numeral date code LVII, indicating a manufacture date of 1994. There are also hand-painted decorator marks in red and gold. The base is fitted with a gold-toned metal stopper embossed with the Royal Crown Derby name and logo, denoting first quality.
