After Emmanuel Villanis, Luciole, a bronzed-patinated bust. - An Art Nouveau period bronze-patinated metal bust after the French sculptor Emmanuel Villanis (1858-1914), titled Luciole (Firefly). The sculpture depicts a young woman with a serene expression and flowing, wind-swept hair adorned with leaves. She wears a low-cut bodice with a floral spray at the shoulder. The piece is finished with a multi-tonal dark brown and copper-coloured patina. It is signed EM. VILLANIS on the side of the bust and incised with the title LUCIOLE across the lower front edge. The work is an integrated casting without a separate plinth. Height: 33 cm.
