These items are constructed from electroplated nickel silver, designated by the A1 grade mark, which indicates the highest standard of electroplating. The plates feature a wide, flat rim and a shallow well, characteristic of durable hotelware designed for commercial hospitality service. The face of each plate is stamped with the text THE LOUNGE HARROGATE arranged in a curved format, indicating their original use at that specific establishment. The underside of each piece bears the Walker & Hall trademark flag containing the letters W & H.
