The shank is crafted from 9ct yellow gold and carries a full set of British hallmarks to the interior. Hallmarks include the anchor for the Birmingham Assay Office, the fineness mark 375 for 9 carat gold, and the date letter q for 1990. There is an indistinct maker mark, possibly C J. Weight: 2.9g.
