Late Victorian? Sterling Silver Book Form Stamp Case Pendant, 14.40g - A sterling silver novelty stamp case designed in the form of a miniature book. The rectangular locket-style case features an embossed front cover with the word STAMPS rendered in a cursive font, bordered by a zig-zag chased frame. The case is constructed with a lateral hinge and includes a suspension loop to the upper corner, allowing for use as a pendant or watch fob. The interior contains a circular aperture intended to display the uppermost stamp. The interior surface near the cutout is struck with the numerals 925 above a rectangular mark containing the word STERLING. The reverse and spine of the case are plain with a polished finish.
