Civil War Tin Document / Map Field Case - Large tin map field case. Measures 36-1/2” tall including and has a diameter of 3-1/2?. Lid is 11-3/4” ling and base is 28-1/2” long. Nice bright, clean interior. This multi-use tin case is made with standard Civil War type soldered construction. The tube is made in 2 sections soldered together in the middle with typical period style razed concentric rings for added strength. Base and top of lid are flat. Side seam is folded over and soldered. Blackened finish with even overall patina, with typical dents and dings from age and use. A nice, rare piece, great for the Civil War collector.
