Civil War Era Unknown Oval Drum Canteen - This unusual canteen is 7” wide and 6” tall (minus spout). It has 2 steel bands and set of brass strap buckles screwed in with steel flathead screws. The cider wood pieces has shrunk over time. The cider sides are very dry and has one crack very close to rim on one side which does not distract. This type of canteen might not be military but it is from the mid 1800s.
