Crafted primarily of wood with a dark stain showing signs of age consistent with a well-used piece. It's composed of multiple tiered sections including the base, a middle step, and a set of steps on the left side. There is decorative wainscotting all around the base. Sitting atop the piece are a pair of wooden chairs for customers. There is a pair of brass footrests, not affixed to the base. The front stoop has a advertisement sign that reads “We Recommend and Sell Stephans Professional Grooming Aids Sold Only by Barbers. Take Them Home for Use Everyday.” A separate wooden box includes a brush, 4 cast iron footrests, an unknown handle for a tool. This likely was used indoors at a Chicago train station, or airport like Midway or O’Hare. Looks like its straight out of a movie. Now go get your shine box!
